Caboose detail
Huntsville, Alabama
April, 2006
In the summer of 2006 the local Democratic party had a get-together at the local train station which is now a museum rather than a working station and includes a roundhouse. I hadn't been there in quite a long time and this is one of the photographs I took of a detail of a caboose they have on display. I tend to photograph more details than I do overall views of many things and this is just such a case. There will be a couple of other pages of images I took on that day, but this is my favorite. It was a good day although the speeches from the politicians were pretty boring. The best part of the afternoon, other than free hot dogs, was my seeing my friend Al who lives in a senior home nearby. He was enjoying some of the free food and hanging out with a couple of guys who live in the same residence. Al's wife died about 5 years ago and he has never quite gotten over the loss, but it was good to see that he was doing well!
