Ayers Farm
Madison County Farmers Market
Huntsville, Alabama
Fall, 2006
During the summer I spend a considerable amount of time at the local farmers market buying fresh vegetables. Early in the springtime the farmers market is also a great outlet for houseplants, especially some very nice hanging baskets. Unfortunately houseplants happen to be a weakness for me so I have far more than I need. I usually also plant some tomato and peppers so I often get my planting stock here also. I have a large freezer and I normally try to have enough food to last the household somewhere around 6 months, but this year was very different and the freezer is almost empty. This photograph was taken just before halloween so there were plenty of pumpkins for sale. Oddly enough this is the first year in quite a long while that I did not buy and carve a pumpkin.
