One morning several years ago someone drove by this pond which lies on a curve between the road and a church and noticed that an auto radio antenna was sticking out of the water. He called 911 and a car was discovered with the body of a woman inside. No one knows what really happened other than that the driver simply missed the gradual curve in the road that is beside this pond and drove right off into it clipping the tree on the left as the car went by.
