Old Sock Factory
The Backside Of An Old Closed Sock Factory
November 26, 2011
This is the backside of a closed sock factory in Fort Payne, Alabama. Fort Payne was once known as "The Sock Capital" of the world, but most of that production has now been outsourced to foreign plants because the owners could save a penny per sock in the stitching of the toes. I think there may be a couple of plants remaining open, but nothing like in the past.
