Grave Memorial Detail
A Detail Of A Burial Monument
November 8, 2006
I find cemeteries to be absolutely fascinating places and there are few, no matter the size, that don't offer something worthy of a photograph such as this detail of a statue in a cemetery in Gurley, Alabama. New monuments such as this are seldom seen these days due to the cost, but the old weather aged ones are beautiful!

This particular cemetery also contains the grave sites of many civil war veterans and I know of several cemeteries in north Alabama that contain headstones that date to the Revolutionary War days.
