In the age of Shoney's breakfast bars and IHOP pancakes, I'm always heartened when I see a country cafe somewhere on my travels. They generally offer good food at very reasonable prices, but, unfortunately, this is a very difficult business to be in and, more often than not, close after only a couple of years because of low profit margins and the time demands on the owner.
