Bragg Farms is a sprawling operation in the rural community of Hazel Green, Alabama primarily growing cotton, corn, and soybeans. In a spirit of sharing, the Bragg family allows NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center to hold its annual Student Launch Initiative event on the property to the south of this silo. High school and college students from across the country come together to launch their rockets in a spirited competition testing their technological expertise with the goal of launching a rocket, with a payload, to a height of one mile with a safe recovery of both the rocket and the payload.
